We were 2 hrs late to sent the Master copy for CD Press. Nonetheless, we tried what we could within that very very short time. I am personally very thankful to each of my band members for their time, effort, talents; and most especially my thankfulness to God for providing all the needs. We recorded the songs using Korg D3200 at our church. Working on a tight schedule since all my members have their own teaching schedule; we recorded from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm (4 hrs daily) from 4th to 11th August.

Talents wise, they were just great. A week before recording I made a demo CD for each one of them, to listen and create what they could while explaining to them what I wanted in the song. We rehearsed 2-3 times before recording live. I wanted to make it a worship live album because this way we could express our passion in the way we worship and offer to God what we were playing. Although we would wish we had more time there's always a reason why sometimes things do not happen according to our plans. I have decided to just trust the Lord to bless those who will listen to the CD. Again...the CD is mainly produced to use it for evangelism. I want to give it to non-believers for free with a Bible and a Gospel tract. For sure I will encourage Christians to buy the CD to help this ministry but my desire is to really get this CD into the ears of non-believers. I have printed inside the CD cover what the song means instead of song lyrics; so that when non-believers read it they will understand what the song is all about.

Well, I will post the CD cover in my next post.

Thanks and God Bless.

Vee

Amazed!

Dear Friends,

It's been an exciting week recording my worship album titled 'Amazed' is due to be released in September. Most of the songs are being recorded live except for additional instruments like Violin, Saxophone and other adlibs, including added back up vocals, which I and my friend Tetsuya Otani (Trained in Boston and San Francisco) is recording now. 'Live' not as a live worship concert but 'live' as the band plays in one take.

The Worship Band

From Left to Right
Standing Row: Minako Ikeda (Violin), Otani Tetsuya (Recording Engineer), Samuel Nakamashi (Drummer), Ikari Ishihara (Bass)
Sitting Row: Akiko Fukumura (Keyboards), Tracy Daniels (Back up Vocals), Vee Tetseo (Guitar, Vocals), Miyui Ikeda (Violin), Noriko Ishihara (Back up Vocals).

Otani Tetsuya

Interestingly this album is going to be a whole lot different from my previous 'Redeemer' worship CD. Kosaka Chu is one of them who is a totally sold-out to Christ person who comes from a world of secular music here in Japan during the 70's - 80's. A person who has made name in the music industry but left all the self-glory for God's glory and become a Pastor. Like everyone of us, he was touched by God on an incident of his daughter who had a 3rd degree burn when she was only 4 years of age (?); and had come out miraculously. This incident completely changed his life. Now, faithfully he and his wife Eika Ko has for the past 30 years founded Mictham Recording company; writing, composing and recording Christian worship music for people here in Japan.
Since 2003, I have been closely working with him and through the past years I have come to love him, his family and learning to be humble as we serve God.

(Vee, Nishigomi and Kosaka Chu)

With Nishigomi in his studio in Tokyo. And as it happens oftentimes, I keep forgetting the password. After a handful 'trial and errors' I have finally gotten into my page. Only this time I have noted in my Bible so that I won't have to be randomly scribbling to refresh my memory.

This year's worship conference is scheduled in the last week of October. We are hoping to bring in some young bands to lead worship during our 'Evening Worship Explosion'. J4J Acoustic Band that I lead will of course be the main worship band leading the conference worship. We are also hoping to repeat some previous workshops (There has been few requests from friends and several churches) that will be like a continuation of what happened in 2007.

Besides the plan to host 'Worship Conference 08', I have been writing and composing new worship songs that I am hopeful to have it recorded for my 2nd solo worship CD. Please keep me in your prayers. I have few jumpy songs that has the flavor of a gospel-blues-rock n roll. Pretty unique as I analyze myself the songs that God has inspired me to write. Anyway, I am looking forward to recording sometime soon.

Beginning tomorrow we will be tightening our belts to host the 50th year anniversary of the Christian Bookstore of Okinawa Baptist Convention. We have invited Pastor Bill Wilson of Metro Ministries, New York to grace the anniversary by bringing God's message to our people here in Okinawa. His books have been a blessing to me and other Pastors as well. Our main event is on the 25th of May, at Okinawa Civic Hall. May 25th is also special because it happens to be my wife's birthday. Hopefully we can have time to celebrate her birthday.

Anyway, new opportunities to serve the Lord and the excitement never fades. Amen!

Never taking off our eyes from the cross.

Ciao!

Vee

Pictures of Remembrance!

Lovely sunset at San Fernando beach. July the last week, me and my family came to Philippines. The 1st week was spent visiting some of the slum areas in Manila with Kuya Reuben and Ate Laura Raymundo of Paco Baptist Church. Our hearts go to them as Paco Baptist Church pray for these areas around them; to minister to them in their wholistic ministry. And we are glad to be able to join hands to serve with them.

2nd week in Baguio with my family. A splint of 3 days and my family heads back home. It was a wonderful experience. My kids loved it and I loved every minute of my trip with them.

3rd week until today. I sat down in our study dungeon doing research for my dissertation proposal. After a two-scrutiny by my panel they accepted and here I am working on to complete my first Chapter.

Visited and preached in many churches, conducted few seminars/workshops on Worship leading, Songwriting, Drums/Guitars workshops etc; plus met new people, made friends.

Conducted a 2 week Music Workshop at Dagupan Chinese Baptist Church, a 2 weekend seminar at Heaven's Corner Christian Book Store, and one day workshop with Paco Baptist Church worship team.

I thank God for His leadings. Although I have missed being with my family, it was a 3 month long, but a successful trip back to the Philippines. I look forward to completing my dissertation soon while also looking at ways to serve God effectively in areas He is directing me to.

Thank you my dear friend Doc. Bong, Dannielle, Sam. Saul, Ann, HanQ, Naleo, Theja, Roshulo, Ruth, Zenaida, Moses, Elaine (I am glad to have met you-your song will be sung in our church too) , Mhac, Beth, and all PBTS/ABGTS students. I have been playing worship songs with several worship bands at the Park Avenue street (At the entrance of our church-Okinawa Daiichi Baptist Church) 'Street Live' has been an on-going ministry of our church since 2003. We've had Cross Over Band (Church Band), Calvary Chapel Worship Band, Tim Newell (Hip Hop artist), and Go-Yeah Chanpuru! worship band play at the 'Street Live.' I have paired with Regin Rodriguez on Sax and played several 'Street Live.'

Over the past years, during the 'Street Live' we've had people receive Jesus and seen hundreds of people (Japanese) hear about Jesus. Our worship evangelism, as we worship God through His praise songs, creates an atmosphere for God's power to reach upon the street and the people who come to watch. A remarkable experience was that of last year when a national tourism business magazine called 'Okinawa Life' printed a caption and picture of the 'Street Live'. The photojournalist was surprised to find a Christian Church with a band playing music at the street. To many Japanese, a church is "stereotype" of a Catholic church where only massive pipe organs are played and worshipers kneel, pronounce 'Hail Mary's' etc. No wonder they were surprised to see Christians playing Blues etc.

Anyway, this month's 'Street Live' is scheduled for June 17th. This time we want to bring in some rock taste and our regular taste of Jazz improvisation, that is, with Regin Rodriguez on the Sax.

This month's new feature would be to watch, listen to Andrew Hall on lead guitar. A young guitarist whose talents are amazing; a young lad who loves the Lord and has a pocket full of guitar riffs along his sleeves.

See you at 4:00 pm, June 17th. Don't miss-Park Avenue or some knows the street as BC street.

See ya!

Vee

Worship Conference Okinawa 07'

Hello Friends,

Am posting the worship conference poster and flyer! I remembered Dr. Apichart too as we were singing his song last January 2007.

Kong: I knew I had met him in Calcutta in the 1991 Asian Baptist Youth Conference. I couldn't miss that because I felt I knew him. So as we talked I asked Kong if he had been in the 1991 ABYF Conference in Calcutta now Kolkota. He said Yes! So, I tell him to wait for a while then bring him a picture of the 1991 Conference.

Memories flash back and we find ourselves talking about the experience and now introducing our family. Then I could not locate the blog. When I finally find the blog, I forget my Username and password. It took a while (2 weeks) to trace back from memory my Username and Password. I am finally BACK!

Well! An awesome experience for me and I know that goes for Go! Ye! Champuru members too.

10 days of ministry in Chiang Mai was not just an eye opener but a challenge to continue reaching out our hands to the needs outside.

The first day: April 28th, we arrive in Bangkok at the wee hours of 1:15 am. We try to steal naps in the International airport before flying to Chiang Mai. After a 6 hours transit an hour flight to Chiang Mai.

We start off our ministry the same day at 1:30 am and head for meeting with Tony Cupit, Director of Baptist World Allinace' Living Water Conference.

4:30 pm we arrive at the Im Jai House, a house for children who either lost their parents from HIV/AIDS or poverty has forced them to leave home. We had a very memorable time of worship and fellowship.

Date 29th April: We worship at the Chiang Mai Japanese Church then get ready for the concert. We had Japanese guest of about 270 people come to the concert. Our concert is labeled "Gospel Concert" from Okinawa.

Date 30th April through May 2nd: Living Water and Development Conference starts off at 2:00 pm. About 300 delegates from 21 countries join the conference. We hear and meet missionaries from all over Asia. We hear how Baptists are involved in Relief and Aids to victims of Tsunami, Earthquakes, campaigning for Social Injustice, reaching out to prostitutes, orphanages etc. God is indeed very much alive among Asian Christians. Thank You Lord!

May 2nd through May 6th:
The 7th Asian Baptist Congress kicks off. Another time of learning and blessing. Go! Ye! Champuru! has been leading worship all through out the Living Water Conference and the Congress is yet another time to be blessed to fulfill our task. With workshops to be led and preparing for worship hasn't been that easy; basically the schedule has been tough. Nevertheless, blessings are plentiful because we hear of so many testimonies from fellow Christians. A significant testimony however, is from a Bhutanese brother who has lived through persecution in Bhutan. A brother who was imprisoned for his faith 6 times. Yet, God's calling is so strong, he cannot abandon his new found faith in Christ; because of the grace he has experienced through the cross.

Asian Baptist Federation will now be known as Asia Pacific Baptist Federation. All over Asia and the Pacific Island countries like Fiji, Paupua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Guam, Micronesia and many more; not forgetting the ever leadership and support from Australia and New Zealand makes APBF stronger.

The Thailand experience has impressed into many of our hearts the need to go out, reach out to non-believers through music and take the task of training other local churches to become more equipped musically. I know many of you have been bored to read the same old stuffs. Apologies!

Well, I am preparing myself to become the father of yet another son who might be arriving anytime this week. (Will post his arrival.) The past weeks have been tough on my family due to ill-health (minigitis). But nonetheless, we praise God for bringing us through and we are now all set to be loaded with our little boy (boys).

Lately, I have been asking myself the question of 'worship's powerful witness' in our churches here in Japan. How can we powerfully witness God through our Sunday worship that would open the eyes and hearts of nonbelievers who have come to seek God themselves?

Much worship services are traditional and I am not in anyway saying contemporary style of worship can be a powerful witness because traditional worship can also be powerful too. AND any true Christian worship can be powerful. My concern, however, is about allowing the Spirit of God to work in our worship in such a way that our worship of God witnesses an amazement of wonder of His presence, His work and by which non-believers realise their need of redemption thus bringing them to repentance and acceptance.

In Japan, one best way to invite a non-believer friend is to invite them for Sunday morning worship service. Worship Evangelism is, most always, an on-going opportunity for us to reach out but for some reasons, not many non-believers seem to find what they're looking for. I still believe a powerful worship witness among Christians is what is needed most. How and what aspects of worship would amplify 'a powerful worship witness.' Suggestions needed, would be appreciated.

Am reading Romans 5:9-11, especially vrs 9, "So that the Gentiles may glorify God for his mercy, as it is written: "Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles; I will sing hymns to your name."

Thank you and God Bless

Vee

2006! Happy New Year!

It's 2006. A year has passed by, another year at hand. Dreams, plans, possibilities, opportunities and promises surrounds our life as we strive to achieve something we have always wanted to. What would that possibly be? I am excited to know what possibly holds for me and my family. I do know that my third son will come in March 1st week and I can't wait to hold him and be the loving dad God has intended me to be.

2006! I have made some resolutions like I do every year and perhaps like everyone does. I am praying I can pursue the years resolutions step by step, looking at the horizon with clarity. But while I do so I am also aware that not all of the resolutions I make will see it's end of completion. Nonetheless, I am hopeful 2006 will brings many blessings. My prayer is to continue to walk close in the footsteps of the Lord and seek His guidance as He leads through the life's pathway that can at times be smooth, or hilly, sometimes rough, or like a walk in the plains of a valley.

My journey for another year has begun.
And I for one wants to make it fun.
Living life to the fullest of all,
Giving myself for the highest call.
Amen!

Vee

Happy New Year to all loved ones. Merry Christmas!

Dear Friends,

First of all, "Thank You" friends for prayers and your support as I serve God here in Japan.
Domo Arigato Gozaimasu!

Also, wanted to wish you all "Merry Christmas" and a 'Happy New Year' 2006. 2005 has been and will be an unforgettable year for many reasons. Early 2005, by God's grace, I passed my comprehensive exam for my doctoral degree (Th.D) and became a full-fledged candidate of Asia Baptist Graduate Theological Seminary, Baguio City, Philippines. ABGTS has a long, rich history of producing many classed doctoral graduates spread over Asia. 2005 will also be an unforgettable year because my dad went to be with the Lord. His legacy of honesty and integrity has been a foundation to my life- so with my mom who passed away 2 years ago.

Arriving back to Japan, it took some time for me to get back to square one. I spent the first month relating to my two boys (2 & 4 yrs old respectively). It is memorable because 2005 has been a year that took a whole lot of challenge to be THE father to my boys and THE husband to my wife. Am learning a lot and I look towards another year or many years to come as I strife to be the person God has meant me to be.

2005 will also be memorable because this year's 'dream-come-true' was the release of my first worship CD album called "Redeemer". A prayer answered through Dave Kwok, a chinese brother from Hong Kong. The CD is a testimony of what God means to me and what His life has meant to me through my faith journey. To this end I will continue to praise and glorify Christ, my Redeemer, My Lord and King.

Last but not the least, friends makes years unforgettable. Thank you for your prayers and support. Thank you for buying the CD "Redeemer." May it bring blessings to your heart as you listen to the songs. Again, without you all life would be a little less than exciting-it wouldn't be fun at all.

So...here I am again, wishing you all a season to give thanks to God for giving us His son Jesus Christ without whom we aren't who we are.

Merry Christmas!

Vee

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://live-to-worship.blogspot.com/2005/12/thank-you-merry-christmas.html' title='Thank You! Finally, this prayer was answered through a pastor brother/friend Dave Kwok from Hong Kong; who had actually offered the idea of recording a music CD.

It took me 16 days to record my first worship album. Each recording day I spent 3-4 hours at Nancle Music Studio, few meters away from our church (Okinawa Daiichi Baptist Church) Chuo Park Avenue recording each tracks at a time. Tamaki San contributed his expertise as the recording engineer, played piano, hammond organ and strings to some of my songs while I played piano, six string electric guitar, acoustic guitar, drums, bass and vocals. Matsumoto Kazuto, Shin Ishihara and my wife Ai supported me by singing back up vocals to few songs. I also had a very good pastor friend Shawn Shavers sing and record his dialogue on the song "Crucified with Christ" written by Faithful Men Okinawa.

My worship CD is named "Redeemer" because that is exactly what Christ has been to me. I designed the CD cover to signify the cross. The CD consists 11 songs, out of which 9 songs are originally written by me. The second song "Anatano Aiga Ima" is written by my wife Ai and "Crucified with Christ" written by Faithful Men Okinawa. It is my prayer that these songs will truly give worth to our "Redeemer" Jesus Christ our Savior and King.

Would you be interested to have a copy of the CD, you can write to me at veeandai@gmail.com or if you live around here in Okinawa, you can buy the CD at Okinawa Christian Bookstore, Urasoe City or Emmau Book Center, Chuo park Avenue, Okinawa City. The CD costs 1,500 Yen until November and 1,800 Yen from December onwards.

Thank you for your prayers.

In His service,

Vee

Lyrics and Guitar Chords to "Redeemer" worship album!

Dear Friends,

Below you will find the lyrics and guitar chords to my songs. (In reverse order from how the sequence is on my CD.)

The songs on the CD are as follows:

1. Redeemer (You Alone are Holy)
2. Anatano Aiga Ima (Love-Ever Loving)
3. I'm here to worship You
4. Jesus
5. Purify my heart
6. The heaven's declare
7. Crucified with Christ.

As you would see the guitar chords, it has been my desire to write songs that are easy to learn and sing. It is my prayer that these songs will become a piece of music to your heart, at your youth worship gatherings, your church worship services and in your personal devotions!

"I will sing of the Lord's great love for ever;
with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.

I will declare that your love stands firm for ever,
that you establish your faithfulness in heaven itself." Psalm 89:1-2 (NIV)

Notice: The songs "I'm here to worship" and "The heaven's declare" does not get enlarged unlike the others. Tried to work out on it but for some reasons I can't seem to do it right. Bear with me. This worship album, I would say, comes as a very deep expression of thanking my savior Jesus Christ for all He has been to me.

Through the days, I would like to write each song story, share with you how the song came about and why I have written it the way it is written. Prayerfully, it is my desire that you will not only find something common as you sing the songs in worship, but help you to meditate and live in your heart the very love of God without whom we would not be where we are. So is the label "live-to-worship," which really means letting our worship of God be our life style..."A life style of worship." It is not only a sunday worship but worship that is seven days a 7 days a week, 31 days a month and 365 days a year. Worship that is not only wordy or sung but worship that can be seen in action, attitude, thus attracting non-believers to Christ.

As I take this opportunity to pass on the lyrics and guitar chords to all the songs, do feel free to save, print the lyrics, guitar chords, Japanese translations for your practice, or for your worship etc.

Allow me to continue updating future ministry opportunities but I do covet your prayers and do whatever I can to help draw you nearer to God.

Praise Jesus! Our Redeemer, Christ our King!

Thank you all!

Vee
